easy, cute valentines!!

You only need four materials to make theses.... 1. some type of note cards 2. felt 3. scissors and 4. glue. Then cut out hearts and glue them on... and wa laaa! You have festive, heart-felt valentines!

Cut out the centers to add some texture.... You can layer your hearts for a different look...
Add some writing....

Or just keep it simple. Have fun and enjoy writing love and friendship notes to everyone you can think of! :)

lady bugs, invitations, and the super bowl...

We had a happenin' super bowl party at my apartment... or not. :) Payton and I stuffed, stamped, and sealed wedding invitations, while we watched the commercials. I mean the game. Lady bugs have overtaken my apartment (and despite popular opinions, I don't like the little things)... but this lil' guy insisted on being a part of our process!

Sorry for the lack of posting. Thanks for keepin' up with us. I have big dreams for this blog.... one day! :)

for the love of paper!

I love getting mail... and I may or may not order stuff online and then forget about it and then become surprised when I get a package! So for my wedding programs, I was in search of black and white patterned paper. I looked everywhere. I spent hours searching on the internet. I went to Michael's, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby. I called Archiver's (because I didn't want to drive an hour unless I knew they had it) and there were no black and white paper packs to be found. That surprised me. Black and White are classic colors that go with everything... how could there not be a paper pack of it?? What are paper designers thinking! Finally, I stumbled upon what I was looking for.... and I bought every pack the little createforless website had! :) And then when it arrived in the mail I was so excited (even if it did take me a minute to remember what I had ordered!). So yes... hopefully some fun, creative inspirations will come out of these paper packs for you to see! 69 days until the big day... so a lot of crafty adventures are in store!

Graphic Design Stuff . . .

Hey y'all, Becca here. I hijacked the blog from Gini for a minute so I could share this with you. (and aren't you guys just so so blown away by all Gini's crafty-goodness? I totally am, I miss living with her because she for real inspired me on a daily basis!) Anyways, my "real" job includes a lot of graphic-design-type stuff. I describe it like that because, technically, I'm not a graphic designer. I'm not a professional at all and I don't have any training. But since I'm never one to let that stop me from doing things, I really enjoy playing around and working with my computer to be creative. I've been doing a lot of invitations, blog headers etc lately, so I thought I'd share them with you here!

Happy Birthday Payton!

Well, I had no epiphany for a homemade gift for Payton today... so I wrote out a list of 23 things I love about him and made him a card. I also made him a cake. And honestly, I really shouldn't post this picture, because of my lack of creative ability with cakes... but here's my excuses... I had 1 hour to get to Kroger, buy icing, find a topping (I was in search of some way to make a canoe on top because he loves canoeing and just got back from canoeing through the Okefenokee swamp), then ice the cake, take a shower (I had been to the gym and I don't glisten, I sweat) and then dry my hair and get to a meeting). So needless to say I was rushed. I settled for a motor boat toy instead of a canoe after circling Kroger 2-3 times... and my messy handwriting will have to do. It tasted fine (If you like Red Velvet)... maybe a little icing overload (and I love icing). And sorry, Payton for the pink candles... that's all we had. :) He was a good sport. And though my excuses may sound convincing, I know I'll never be a cake decorating pro... no Ace of Cakes in my future. :) Maybe just a cake wreck???
So... despite my lack of cake decorating ability... Happy, happy birthday, Payton!

Little heart throb!

We got an order for a little boy onesie with a valentine tie and a valentine pillow case dress... Becca is in charge of the dress and me the onesie. I did the onesie this afternoon and I think it is the cutest little thing ever. Mostly because the onesie is teeny... and the little boy must be teeny! May or may not have made me want a baby sooner rather than oh the 5 year wait I'm going to have (but that's a whole nother story for a different day... or not :)). Hopefully you will get to see Becca's creation, because I know it is sure to be precious!
So... as Valentine's day rolls around.... what are you crafting??
